As an introductory course, Accounting 1 teaches the planning, analyzing and interpreting of transactions that occur in a small for-profit single-owner business. These transactions are processed and recorded through an entire accounting cycle with the ultimate objective of preparing financial statements that summarize the results of operations for that business. Building off of Accounting 1, this course introduces more complex accounting procedures and completes the accounting cycle with a focus on larger publicly-owned merchandising businesses. Worksheets are introduced that assist in the recording of year-end adjustments, closing the company’s books for a reporting period and the final preparation of financial statements. Additionally, interpreting a company’s results of operations through various financial analysis methodologies are taught. Accounting for the company’s payroll is covered as well as the periodic reporting of financial information requirements to the federal government. This course is for you whether you’re completely new to Microsoft Office or are just looking to refresh your skills for a potential job. Basic computer terminology is covered. Students will become familiar with Word, Excel and PowerPoint, sending and receiving attachments through email and challenges to practice what you’ve learned. Location: Online 12 Sessions

Then, increase your efficiency by learning how to organize, display and calculate your data into useful information using sorts, filter, and charting.
